CeBIT brings digital lifestyle to life
CeBIT 2006, 9 March to 15 March

Trade fair focuses on increasing convergence of markets
Extra event in Hall 27 uses new display format
"digital living" appeals to the emotions and shows how different
products and solutions can be integrated

CeBIT, the world's leading specialist trade fair, each year sets out
the latest developments and trends on the information and
communications technology market. Under the banner 'Digital
Solutions for Work and Life,' CeBIT, from 9 to 15 March 2006, will
be focusing on the theme of digital lifestyle as a new component of
digital life. CeBIT is the only forum that shows how digital
solutions for work and leisure are really integrating, from business
software and hardware to home and office communication solutions and
digital entertainment. This trade fair thus covers the growing
convergence of markets, as information and communications technology
is increasingly merging with consumer electronics, telematics, and
logistics. In the various trade fair halls, around 1,300 exhibitors
including Deutsche Telekom, Ericsson, Fujitsu Siemens Computers,
Intel, LG, the Metrogroup, O2, Panasonic, Samsung, Sharp, and Sony
will be offering an insight into convergent solutions and showcasing
the latest innovations.

To highlight the digital lifestyle theme in tandem with exhibitors'
stands and to show how different products work together, CeBIT is
creating an extra platform in Hall 27 featuring hands-on solutions.
The new 'digital living' events are aimed at technology enthusiasts
and the wholesale/retail trade, which is facing special challenges
due to the increasing convergence of markets.

'digital living' is based on a new display format which departs from
the traditional exhibition concept, preferring to present a
colorful, exciting but also educational world of entertainment.
There are no conventional 'exhibitors' here. Instead, the fair
features companies, brands, and institutions that are part of an
overall concept and combine to create this realm of the senses.

'digital living' is a lively event boasting an extensive program
with a mix of information and entertainment. Companies such as AMD,
Bose, Microsoft, Rollei and Volkswagen will be presenting a range of
digital environments and unveiling their latest solutions for
consumer electronics, car hi-fi systems, and home automation.

Two themed stages will be devoted to 'Mobile Communications and
Infrastructure' and 'TV and Entertainment, PC and Games,' offering
visitors a wide-ranging program with shows and a host of interesting
digital innovations.

Trend lifestyle magazine MAX has specially
developed 'MAX.DIGITAL.LOUNGE,' featuring an appealing variety of
music and acts. The proceedings will include two big after-fair club
parties where, in a two-hour live act, the famous Havanna Boys will
combine electronic sounds and acoustic instruments to provide the
musical platform for a stylish occasion. The successful Hamburg
video artists from Shambala Lounge will enhance the musical
experience with a mix of film, sound, and light experiments.

The 'Global Responsibility' display area is more serious but no less
exciting, offering a variety of projects and lectures, based on the
theme 'thinking and acting on a networked level'. These include part
of the Global Ethic exhibition by the celebrated theologian and
writer Professor Hans Küng, who will be giving a lecture on the
topic 'Man cannot live from digital technology alone.'

As part of 'digital living', BITKOM's 'Dialogkreis Konvergenz' (an
open platform involving collaboration between some 200 experts from
the IT, telecommunications, media, and advertising industries) and
